My name is Richard and I am a professional musician, producer, artist and photographer based in the north of England.

Under the name of Ethereal Music I first started writing and producing music in 2016 and had my first album, Caps of Ice, released soon after under the ROHS record label.

During the next few years I worked with several labels including ROHS, ODREX Music and worked with one of the most well respected sample and audio design labels, Samplephonics who later became NOIIZ.

Alongside this work I also did several self releases, mainly focusing on ambient and downtempo music and began my series of free EPs, the Goodnight series.

In 2017 I released a charity project, Dear Pavan, which saw my album sales fund a clean water well in Tenali, India.

In 2024 I began working on a new collaborative project alongside artist and author Todd Harris Jr, creating the duo the Byers-Harris Experiment. Our first album is almost ready for release and can be found at the Bandcamp link on the Byers-Harris page on this website.

I am qualified in Music Theory with the ABRSM Royal Schools of Music and play a variety of instruments, from guitar and bass, keys, trumpet and clarinet and programme and design synthesizers and electronic instruments. I work from my home studio in The Lake District and am available to work with independent musicians and offer sound design and scoring services.
